"This design was made by a friend, Dr Walter Springer, who lives in Tubingen, Germany, and teaches in Valpo's study-abroad program near there. We lived near Tubingen (in Reutlingen) from 2007 to 2009, when I served as director of that program. The print (based on a famous New Yorker Magazine Cover) contains many memories for us." "A long time Valparaiso resident, I have had several projects (too numerous to remember) completed by Framing Concepts. For the last few years I have utilized the Lincolnway gallery in Valpo." "Barbara Ann, the Valparaiso Designer, has always used her knowledge and ability to create exactly what I had envisioned in my head. Her friendly demeanor is ever present and I frequently stop by just to chat and catch up on her growing family." "My most recent project was an antique cream-barrel label from the Sleepy Eye Mills that were located in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. She utilized a double matting of blue and off-white to enhance those two colors of the label. Since the label is very old, I did not want it to be dry mounted before framing. Barbara Ann and her associates cleverly and inconspicuously solved that problem. I also wanted to be able to remove the label later, if so desired, without harming it or the frame. Framing Concepts came up with a removable back, and once again, problem solved." "I would encourage anybody with anything they wish to display to consider the Framing Concepts gallery. Their combined expertise and professionalism will turn any idea into an eye-appealing wall decoration." -Dick Swisher- |

"My brother-in-law celebrated his 60th birthday this year. I saw that he had these great vintage hand puzzles in a garage sale. Without him knowing, I grabbed them so I could frame them as a gift for his birthday...He loved this gift & kept saying 'they're back!' He put them above his fireplace in his TV room right away. The story behind them is that he received them as a gift from his mom & dad when he was 6 or 7 years old. His son and daughter played with them & his 4 grandchildren did as well." "Barbara Ann Holmes, the designer, is friendly, helpful & takes her time with expert suggestion and recommendations and uses quality materials." -Nancy Montague- |

"This watercolor is of Haystack Rock, one of the world's largest sea monoliths, which is located near Cannon Beach, Oregon. The picture has been in my husband's family for decades, as they have very close ties to the area. An ancestor founded Portland and later family members built a vacation home in Cannon Beach, about 70 miles away. My husband spent many happy summers visiting the seaside home. Haystack Rock isn't far away, and on especially fortunate days, you can look down from the cliff to find mother whales and their calves enjoying all that beautiful part of the Pacific has to offer. " "I was thrilled to see how Framing Concepts enhanced the beauty of the watercolor. The frame and mats complement it to perfection." -Diane Pohl Minott-

"I have been a fan of the Grateful Dead for many years and happened upon this photo of Jerry in a head shop in 1999. When I accidentally dropped it last year I noticed a date written on the inside and it just so happens it was taken at the first Dead show I had ever been to (1993). Having been to 24 shows until his untimely death in 1995, this was obviously an important artifact to me. It was just a run of the mill frame, no big loss, so I took it to Framing Concepts and spoke with the staff about some ideas, and a placard, etc. I can't believe what a job they did on probabaly my most prized possession. It looks fantastic. Thanks so much guys. Jerry will live on in the hearts and minds of the fans as the music is timeless, and will always be a mentor to my own guitar playing." -Bryan Hood-

"The customer service at Framing Concepts is what I refer to as Land's End / Eddie Bauer. In other words, service, quality, fair pricing and complete customer satisfaction. First of all, they have a great store look. Barbara is a very knowledgable salesperson that listens well and wants to make your experience fun and enjoyable. The quality of framing so far is perfect. And I am on top of the 'anal' pack of all human beings looking at fit and finish, perfectly beveled matting with 45 degree corners, square paper rear-frame covers, and nice hardware to easily hang each piece." "We have purchased one large abstract piece, which is perfect above our fireplace. And it was given to us to take home to 'try' first. If it didn't work we simply return it. In this case it was perfect and instead of returning to pay I simply called Barbara and gave her my credit card details - it's too easy doing business with Framing Concepts. We've also had several pieces I collected during my extensive international travel (about 20-25 countries a year) framed and are totally pleased. My recent two pieces from Vietnam are delicate scenes of two girls on bicycles with their traditional Vietnamese hats riding away in the sunset and the other is a Vietnamese working in a rice field. These are made with small pieces of twisted, folded, and otherwise hand conformed paper strips. I just picked them up this morning and Framing Concepts took care to keep the 3-D pieces back from the glass to keep them from distorting in any way." "As I picked up the Vietnamese pieces I dropped off a unique sectioned box of 5 Japanese serving bowls that I need some real special design and execution for to make these applicable to hang in our International decor home. Framing Concepts is my only choice." -Larry King-
